About Sjana

Since releasing her first single in 2016, Sjana’s music catalog has grown significantly. In her early years, she collaborated with her brother, NumerusX, and together they released the 80s-inspired electronic/dance EP Show Me Your Truth in 2018. After parting ways, she began producing and mixing her own music. Two years later, she released her first solo LP, Gull & Grjót, followed by a debut concert just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit Iceland in February 2020.

Sjana then worked on Broken/Unbreakable, a deeply personal two-part saga about the sexual abuse she endured as a child. The first part, Broken (November 2021), is cinematic and melodic, while the second part, Unbreakable (July 2022), is more upbeat and empowering. In October 2024, she released her third album, Raunheimar, featuring Icelandic songs inspired by real-life stories and personal experiences. In February 2025, she released the single Love Me, the winner of OverTune and Bylgjan’s song competition, marking a new artistic direction as she works on her upcoming EP, expected in Fall 2025.

She has made numerous appearances, including The Voice Iceland (2017) and the Icelandic Music Experiments that same year. In 2015 and 2016, she competed in a televised high school singing competition.
